Sources are sought to design, procure components and equipment, fabricate, assemble, test, deliver, and direct the installation of (3) equipment skid assemblies in the 102 and 108 drifts (tunnels) of the U1a underground complex.
These (3) equipment skids include (2) pump skids and (1) Service Air skid, The skids will be part of the overall cooling water systems and service air systems supporting the U1a Complex Enhancement Project (UCEP) Subproject 020, located underground, at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS).
The U1a Complex Enhancements Project (UCEP) provides cooling water and service air to various systems in the U1a drifts. The subject of this sources sought notice is three equipment skids which include heat exchangers, pumps, instrumentation and controls, surge/expansion tanks, filters, electrical equipment as well as all components of the service air system.
Chilled water is supplied to the cooling water skids through a set of supply and return headers located in a newly constructed borehole. On the surface, an air-cooled chiller plant cools water in the chiller water primary loop.
The secondary side of cooling water equipment skid provides clean, treated cooling water to scientific equipment, HVAC equipment, and other mechanical and electrical equipment.
The service air skid, located in the U1a.108 drift, provides service air for UCEP.
The Nevada National Security Site (NNSS) is a U.S. Department of Energy, National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) installation, operated by Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (CONTRACTOR), comprising approximately 3,561 square kilometers (1,375 square miles) of federally owned land located in southeastern Nye County, Nevada. Located approximately 105 kilometers (65 miles) northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada, the NNSS is accessed from U.S. Highway 95, which roughly forms the southern boundary of the site.
