NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT

Project: Mead General Electric 525kV Cap Bank Repairs

Western Area Power Administration (WAPA), Desert Southwest Region (DSWR), hereby gives notice of their intent to award a brand name service order to GE GRID Solutions LLC 10 Paluso Drive, Charleroi, PA 15022 on a sole source basis utilizing FAR 13, Simplified Acquisition, implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements (attached SSJ).

WAPA DSW is requesting information to identify possible vendors capable of repairing a General Electric 525kV series capacitor bank (SCB) located at the WAPA DSW Mead (MDE) Substation in Boulder City, Nevada (Metro-Las Vegas area). This is NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES OR PROPOSALS; however, the Government will consider responses from all responsible sources received within five days after date of publication of this notice. Offerors that believe they can fulfill the requirements of this order shall submit their capability statement to reyeswiltz@wapa.gov no later than the response time set forth in this notice. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly be able to provide the service outlined in this notice. Any responses received will only be considered for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in lieu of the sole source described in this notice, and such determination shall be made at the sole discretion of the WAPA DSW. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice.
